Add a store locator to your Shopify store, no app needed
Store locator apps for Shopify are almost all monthly subscriptions. If your list of shops or stockists changes a few times a year, that is a lot of months paid for nothing. A MightyMaps locator is built once from your spreadsheet and goes onto a Shopify page through a Custom Liquid section, the standard way to add your own code in an Online Store 2.0 theme.

Adding it to Shopify
Any Shopify plan with the Online Store can show it. Custom Liquid sections are part of Online Store 2.0 themes such as Dawn; on an older theme, paste the code into the page content editor's HTML view instead.
Build and publish the locator
In MightyMaps, upload your spreadsheet of shops or stockists, check the pins, then switch the map to Public in the share menu and copy the embed code.
Make a template for the locator page
Go to Online Store, Themes, Customize. In the template picker at the top choose Pages, then Create template, and name it "store-locator". Click Add section and choose Custom Liquid.
Paste and save
Paste the embed code into the Custom Liquid box and click Save.
Give it a page
In Online Store, Pages, add a page such as "Find a store", set its Theme template to store-locator, and save. Add it to your menu under Online Store, Navigation.
One line, the same on every site
The embed code is a standard iframe pointing at your map on map.mightymaps.app. Change the map in MightyMaps and every page that embeds it shows the change; the code itself never needs replacing.
The embed code
Copied from the share menu. It looks like this:
<iframe src="https://map.mightymaps.app/your-map" title="Find a shop" width="100%" height="600" style="border:0" loading="lazy"></iframe>
Common Shopify fixes
There is no Custom Liquid section.
Older (vintage) themes don't have one. Edit the page under Online Store, Pages, click the Show HTML button (<>) in the editor toolbar and paste the code there.
The locator appears on every page.
The section went into the default page template. Remove it there, and add it to a separate store-locator template that only your locator page uses.
The map is too short.
Change height="600" in the code to the height you want, in pixels.
Harbour Roasters: Find Us
Nearest location first, search by town or ZIP code, and hours, phone and directions on every location. This is the same locator that would sit on your Shopify page.
A store locator for our four Toronto cafés with addresses and hours, a 2 km delivery radius around each one, and a shaded same-day bike delivery zone downtown.
Built 4 branches, 4 delivery radii and a same-day zone

Store locators on Shopify
No. It is an embed, so it needs no app permissions and adds no app charge to your Shopify bill.
Yes. Give your spreadsheet a group column (shop, stockist) and they are colour-coded apart, so shoppers can tell where to buy from where to visit.
The locator loads lazily from MightyMaps, on its own page, so your product and collection pages are untouched.
