A Storemapper alternative without the monthly plan
Storemapper is a long-established store locator, sold as a monthly or annual subscription with plans sized by how many locations you have. It is a good product, and for a brand with hundreds of stockists the subscription buys real features. For a business with a handful of shops, it is a recurring bill for a map that rarely changes. MightyMaps builds the same kind of locator from your list, and you pay for the work once, in credits, with nothing to renew.

What Storemapper is good at
If one of these is what you need, use it. You will be happier, and this page will have done its job.
Built for large location counts
Its top plans handle thousands of locations, and its traffic is not metered. MightyMaps holds up to 400 locations per map.
Analytics and white label
Higher plans report what visitors search for and remove Storemapper branding. MightyMaps has no visitor analytics, and keeps a small "Made with MightyMaps" credit on every map.
Data sync
Higher plans can sync locations from a file in Google Drive. MightyMaps imports a CSV when you upload it; it does not watch a file for changes.
Where MightyMaps works differently
No subscription
You buy credits when you need them, they never expire, and the locator stays up whether or not you buy more. There is no plan to outgrow and nothing to cancel.
Built from a list, edited in a sentence
Upload a spreadsheet or paste the addresses, and every one is looked up and pinned. "The Alberta shop now closes at five" updates it; the embed code never changes.
Nearest first with no permission pop-up
The list opens sorted by distance from the visitor's approximate location, from their connection, so nobody is asked to share their location. Typing an address or ZIP code gives an exact answer.
The look is yours
Colours, title and the details on each location are set by describing them, so the locator matches the rest of the site without a stylesheet.

Switching from Storemapper
Yes. Export your locations as a CSV, upload it, and match the columns (name, address, phone, hours, link). Every address is looked up, and rows that already have latitude and longitude are placed exactly as given.
Nothing while nobody searches. Showing the map, sorting it nearest first and searching the list by name are free. Each visitor who searches by address or ZIP code costs you half a credit, and a daily cap per map stops a busy day becoming a big bill.
Yes, as an embed: paste the code into a custom HTML or liquid section. There is no Shopify app to install and nothing to keep updated.
Other tools people weigh up
Free and capable, but it is a drawing tool: no nearest-location list, no address search for your visitors.
