About MightyMaps

MightyMaps builds the maps that businesses and people actually need, store locators first, from a list or a plain-English description. It is built and run by Steve Sicherman, an independent software developer who also makes MightyBuilder, MightyPhoto, MightyWatcher and MightyWidgets. Email to support@mightymaps.app goes straight to Steve.

Why it exists

Most maps people want are a list of places with a purpose: the shops that sell your product, the towns you serve, the stops on a trip. The tools for making them are either drawing programs, where you search for and place every pin yourself, or store locator services sold as a monthly plan for a map that rarely changes.

MightyMaps takes the list (a spreadsheet, a pasted set of addresses, or a description) and builds the finished map: every place looked up and pinned, sorted nearest first for a visitor, ready to embed on a website or share by link. You change it by saying what changed. And you pay for the work once, in credits, rather than every month.

Underneath

How it works

The assistant fills in a map, it never writes one

The AI model does not produce web pages. It fills in a strict, validated description of the map (places, routes, areas, the list beside them), and one renderer draws every map from it. A map cannot contain anything that description cannot express.

Addresses go through a real address lookup

Street addresses are located with Amazon Location Service, the same kind of geocoding delivery apps use, so a pin sits on the building. Anything that only matched the street or the town is flagged for you to check.

Open map data

The base map is OpenStreetMap data, served as vector tiles by OpenFreeMap. Routes follow the real road, path and cycle network.

Payments by Stripe

Credit packs are sold through Stripe, which is the merchant of record and handles sales tax. MightyMaps never sees a card number.

What you can count on

  • No subscription. Credits are bought when you need them and never expire.
  • A map you have built stays up whether or not you buy more credits.
  • Viewing a map is free for everyone, however many people open it.
  • Every comparison page says where the other tool is the better choice.
  • No invented reviews, ratings or customer counts. When there are real ones, they will be here.
